Twilight Zone

Hello all!  I'm going to try and actually write this post so you all know I am still somewhat alive!  LOL!!!  I'm still in the process of getting better with medication for my thyroid.  It's awful when all I want to do is sleep ... and I still have a hard time keeping my head to actually do anything worthwhile.  I feel like I'm operating with only 1/4 of a brain!!!!

And to add to that - now my computer is giving me fits and may have to go out for repair!  Lovely.  It never rains but it pours, right?  But it's May first, so hopefully all that rain brings green grass, green trees, and beautiful flowers!  And NO MORE PROBLEMS!!!!

Gorgeous jeweled egg was made for my mother
in the early 60's by Mrs. L.G. Balfour (Balfour Jewelry
of Attleboro, MA-all gone now, building and all!)

I've missed keeping up with all of my wonderful bloggy friends-I feel like I've been lost in the Twilight Zone!
I don't know what's been happening with everyone and I haven't left any comments in such a long time.  So sorry for that!

Bunny girl (Noialand pattern)

The only things I've done for crafting is work on a few hand-sewn dolls while facing the TV screen.  And usually only at night--I seem to get a little life in me late.

Bunny baby wears a carrot costume (Noialand)

Sometimes I sit like a lump, though.  That's the biggest problem.  Being able to get anything actually finished. And doing the normal stuff like washing dishes (huh??!!) or vacuuming the carpets (pets??? can you say cat fur???)

Owls for a little garland (Noialand)

And let's not even discuss think about laundry!!!  Or cooking eating.  I will be happy once I really get some good energy back.  That has been such a crummy problem for me.  Does anyone else out there have a thyroid problem???????  Any words or information on how you handled it and all would be gratefully received!!!!

I hope I am able to post this - I'll never remember what I said if I lose it all!  And I probably will not have my computer after the 3rd.  But there are a couple of things I really must do (both SOOO long overdue) :

1.  Get in touch with Chris from Perfectly Printed ~

2.  Call Elizabeth of Creative Breathing ~

Please forgive me for not linking everything here.  I am afraid to push my luck with this computer.

Love to all,

AUCTION TO BENEFIT BOSTON MARATHON BOMBINGS

Hello to all!!!

Please forgive my absence here - I have still been recovering from recent illness plus a new diagnosis of a thyroid problem.  But even in my muddle-headedness, I felt I MUST do something to help (in my own very small way) the victims of the recent Boston Marathon Bombings.

I decided to do what I could do best, craft something to auction on eBay.  That is what I've done!!

I miss my "bloggies" and hope everyone is well.  I will be back to regular posting soon!!!

I switched to Bloglovin!!

Well, Bloglovin has made everything quite easy to switch readers!!!!  Once I imported my bloglist, I just followed the prompts to "Claim" my blog.  That was also easy!!!!  I still show my follow by Google on my blog.  I will leave it until it actually goes away.  But the button to follow me via Bloglovin is on the left side of my blog now.  I had read lots of good things about Bloglovin, that's why I chose it as my new blog reader.  I am glad I waited a few days because that allowed Bloglovin to come up with an easy way to make the switch.  Thank goodness!!  I was a bit scared of trying to follow other difficult (to me!) routes to gaining what I set out to do.

So, if you are ready to change over to Bloglovin, just follow the link here.    Follow the instructions for a quick and easy changeover!!!

Love to all,

Changing My Blog Reader!

Hello everyone!

Sorry to say I am still way down under the weather ... I haven't been on my computer very much, just laying around on the sofa and snoozing a lot.

I did catch all of the "to do" about Google Reader going away, so I decided to change over to Bloglovin when I found an easy way to do it.  I just followed this link, and it imported all of my blogs from Google Reader - easy peasy!  Also, if you make the change, don't forget to claim your OWN blog.  I am attempting to do that now with this post.  I will see if that part works and let you know.

March Winds

It seems as though the March winds have blown another nasty bug my way.  Just when I thought I was feeling better!  Seeing the doc yesterday just as the nasty bug hit was a good thing.  Now on meds to chase it out of my system.  It's made me so tired and have no energy at all.  I did manage to get my swappies made just before all of this happened.  Now the trick is to feel well enough to wrap and package them up and go out to post them.  Please forgive my lateness, but they are a-coming!!

* I've heard that Elizabeth is going to have surgery.  That makes me feel sad that she has to go through it.  I am with you all in wishing her my best and hearty hugs and prayers that her surgery is over fast and she is on to a super quick recovery.

* Sandy's beloved dog, Maya, will also be going through surgery.  Sending wishes and prayers for poor Miss doggie ~ and warm hugs to her "mom" to hang in there.

* To those of you who have been sick with the flu and other nasties, I hope you are feeling so much better and are back to normal now.  I know there have been some bad snowstorms across blogland, and I sure hope that warm spring sunshine melts it away soon.  Rhode Island was fortunate during the last Nor'easter.  Parts of Massachusetts, some areas not all that far from me, got hit with 20+ inches while we got away with 1 1/2 to 2 inches.  Then it rained, and took most all of that away.  Today it became a monsoon out there, with wind whipping the rain around crazily.  Thank goodness it wasn't snow.  We've had so much gloom here lately, I am ready-teddy to see the sunshine!!!

A few pix of what I got made so far:

I can't show the Easter spoolie swappie that I made because I don't want to spoil the surprise for my partner!  I will show it down the bunny trail when I'm sure she has already received it!!  I was supposed to be finishing a black chunky cowl for my daughter, but I got playing with these poms and sculpting them, and had fun doing it, so I haven't gotten to her cowl yet.  As soon as I feel better, I think I will be able to finish my bunnies, chicks, maybe a duckie, and the cowl.

Have a good week, bloggies!!!

My Son on TV

My son, Jodie, lives out in LA.  He's had some interesting jobs while he's been out there.  He worked as photographer's assistant for a magazine, where he even had a byline in the magazine.  He worked for a video company where he got to check out all the new games before they went to market.  And something he's done when it fits into his schedule - is play an extra onscreen.  So, over time he's been in a lot of different TV programs and even in several movies!  (Ooh, I'm waiting for the day he's in a Johnny Depp movie!  See how fast I get to California!!!!!  *hee hee*)

Anyway, sometimes I was lucky enough to get a clip showing where he came on scene during the program.  I hardly ever get actual photos of him from screen shots or in costume.  Recently he was an extra on the current TV program "Scandal".  He sent me several pix of himself  taken in his "outfit" for the scene he would be in:  a tuxedo!!

My handsome son, Jodie

Jodie dressed for "Gala" scene on Scandal

Isn't he handsome??  I'm his mom, but I think so!!!  And he's such a nice guy, doesn't drink nor smoke.  I am very proud of him and love him to pieces!!  (As I also do my daughter, Greta, but I will do a little post of her down the road.)

Then, he was sweet enough to send me several screen shots of himself on set with the actors during the actual filming:

Here he is in the middle of the shot

Here he is with Kerry

And again with Kerry

It was so cool because he was standing right next to Kerry during this scene, so every time the camera panned to her, he was also in the shot.  The camera has always loved him, ever since he was a baby.  He would always pose for pictures and I always had lots of cute shots of him!  A photographer friend of his has taken lots of beautiful shots of him all over LA.  Some in retro clothes and he looks like he stepped out of "Madmen".

He wants to get into actual acting and has plans for acting classes in the near future.  I keep encouraging him because I've always felt that he was going to be in the creative world of movies at some point.  I will be certain to share any new photos I get from him.  I would also love to show you some pix of his several LA  photo shoots with Ian (photographer).  But that will be for another time.

It's been crazy here weather-wise.   We've had it snowing, then raining.  Today, it's spitting snow, but will probably turn to rain again.  I think it was raining just a bit much earlier.  It's been so gloomy lately.  I will be more than happy for spring to arrive ... and stay!!!

Bloggies, stay well and warm ...til next time ...
