Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Just want to say that I hope you all had/have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!  My BFF, Cathy, cooked a delicious turkey and we had a  lovely dinner together - keeping in touch with our families by phone.   Not the best way for our loved ones, but right now, the only way.

Hope you were able to spend time with friends and family - and ate lots of yummy food!

News note:  will have my NEW computer in December - and I can't wait!!  It's been so boring not being able to go online whenever I want- I sure miss the 'Net!!!!!

On to the Christmas Season now - wondering what everyone is doing for crafts and decor and such for the coming holidays.  Can't wait to get back into the swing of reading blogs and seeing what you all are up to.
I've been crocheting and sewing for Blythe and hope to be able to get things listed soon.

Love to all of my bloggies out there ..........

At the Library ...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Still in the midst of computer problems ...  It's hard to write a blog at the library!!!  And I so wanted to show you wips of the Blythe Christmas dresses I've been working on.  These are a combination of crochet and fabric.  I should have a dozen dresses when they are all finished.  I hope I have a working computer soon - otherwise it will be pretty hard to post listings (and photos) on eBay and Etsy!!!

Also thinking it's time to get my flu shot!  Yes, I usually get one every year and I am a bit late for getting one this year.  Does everybody out there get one?  I know some people won't get one because they think they will become sick.  I have never gotten sick from a flu shot, and I do believe having one has saved me from the nasty ravages of flu many times over!!!

I will have quite a bit of catching up to do once I am settled in front of my own (!) computer at home again.

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend --

Land of the Lost

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Well, here I am again - knee deep in computer woes.  For the second time this year, I lost all of my photos and downloads.  The pictures contained Pose dolls I had made but have all been sold, so can't retake new pix!  Plus other photos and such that have been lost in the Computer Twilight Zone.  And the downloads - there were some new patterns I had just purchased and never printed.  And you know how it is, when you go searching for patterns for some particular little thing you want to do at any given time, search for hours and save all kinds of tidbits for later doing.  Yep - gone again.  I cried.  When all else fails (and fail it does!), cry!  The woes are not over - I'm limping along here.  For a very short while I was actually able to upload pictures off my camera, too.  So, now at this point-NOPE!  ARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!  Just grin and bear it, right?

Please forgive the picture-less post.  I figure as long as I am even able to get online - I can at least do a few things and not worry about the extra "fluff"!!  I mean this whole computer-of-cards could go phfft!! at any moment!

I DID manage to get the Etsy widget onto my blog.  Some of the items I've been working on are shown there in the slide show and now for sale in my shop.  I just finished that cute Kawaii (redundant, I know) hat for Blythe and got the pic uploaded.  I'm working on three Christmas Dresses for Blythe. One red, one green, and one white.  I have the "shells" done (what I call the main crocheted dress, I know, hard to know what I mean with no pix) and have to add the tulle underskirts and then decide what embellishments I want for each dress.  And will also have to decide what each matching Blythe bonnet will be!

Don't know if any of you have been watching the Hallmark Movie channel, but there have been some totally lovely stories on.  I am a sucker for Christmas stories and movies, so yeah, I've been glued to the channel.  LOL  And you know Hallmark.  If the TV commercials make you sob, these movies make you positively wail!!  But such nice stories, full of hope, love, and romance.  Pretty women and handsome men with cute kids thrown in for good measure.  They manage to hold the key to heartwarming, tearful-ending holiday stories.  Jus saying .....

Hopefully, the pain of a zonked computer will be behind me soon.  Then I can get back to some kind of normalcy.  Heh heh ....

Happy Sunday to you all!!

Oh, and just wanted to show you these new pix of my Victorian Vampire Son!  He dressed up for the parade in West Hollywood.

Jodie

Handsome!

I added the frames to the pix he sent.  I think he did a great job!!  Oh!  Which reminds me - does anyone else watch Syfy's "Face Off"????  The finale is this coming Tuesday!  Since I like all three finalists, I can't wait to see who wins the top prize!!!

Meet Mini Ddung, Xuli!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I want to introduce one of my new little girls:  my mini Ddung from Korea.  I fell in love with these tiny dolls and just couldn't resist that cute little face!  Oh, by the way, it's pronounced "Doo-ing".  I think it means "cute".  I have some pix of when she arrived.  (I WAS rather excited, hee hee!)

The package arrives from Korea!!

Ooh-pink!!

Such a pretty box-she is the Pink Petit Mademoiselle!

There she is!!

Out of the box with her little play cards.

Isn't she cute??!!

This is a wee crocheted outfit I made for her.  It's a little hard to see, but
there is a white feather in her in her hat!!

This is another crocheted outfit I made.  This one is for sale
on eBay.

I named her "Xuli" (Soo-lee).  I just love little dolls, and miniature things!!  I plan on making her a little Christmas Outfit - which I will have to squeeze in between all of the Blythe dresses I've been working on!  I am still in my crochet mode and have been making lots of Blythe outfits for my eBay "shop".  (Not really a shop, but it's the place where all of my listings hang out together!)  And my poor Etsy shop is so bare ......
In posts to come, I will share some of the new dollies I've acquired.  My doll-desires run the gamut these days to include sizes from 4 inches up to 20 inches!   Yup, and everything in between.  Along with some of the brandy new dolls, I also go with some project dollies.  Those are the ones that have to be cleaned up, hair spruced up,  and dressed.  And I wouldn't mind having another Ddung-one with dark hair!  There is also a larger size -about 7" tall - and I wouldn't mind getting one of those either!  Guess I'd better go crochet ....

I hope all of my sweet bloggy pals are doing well - I've missed you all very much and really will try to be a good girl in Blogland again!!!!

Have a pleasant Sunday!!!!

CROCHET MODE!!!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

A great big "hi" to all of you bloglanders out there!!!  No, I haven't forgotten everyone, it's just been one of those crummy 6 month spells.  I think I've finally broken through, though, and hopefully back to continue POSTING!!

I have been in my crochet mode, so I'll show you some of the things I've been working on.  (At this moment, I can't upload new pix on my computer.  My old computer with ALL my stuff crashed and died on me.  Yep, not fun.  This is not a new computer, either, but I am darned glad to have it!!  Just taking time to get things somewhat normal.  Normal?  Well ...)

I've been making Blythe outfits:

This is, of course, Strawberry Girl.  (Still available)  The dress comes with a headpiece and a stuffed and beaded strawberry.  One of my Tangkou girls, Gianna, is modeling; as well as my Blythe, Verity.

This one I called Blueberry Girl and it has been sold.  I used different shades of crochet cotton thread and embroidery floss.  It had an attached tulle underskirt.  I made a matching hat and ballet slippers. That is my Pullip Miss Chloe modeling!

This is the Watermelon Girl, which is also has some hand beading  This dress has a matching hat with flowers and beads.  That's the other Tangkou girl, Beatrix, modeling.  Yes, they do look like twins!!

Now when I first did this dress, I called it Melon Girl, but I've changed it to Peachy Keen!  It is in shades of pretty peach with a really pretty headpiece and ballet slippers.  I had hauled everything outside to take pix of the girls modeling outfits and trying to make it look like they were having fun!!

This is a multi collage of a few different dresses I've made.  The Little Big Eyes Doll is still wearing the natural color dress.  It has a bright pink tulle underskirt, and I liked it with her bright pink hair.  At this time, that poor little girl has no name!!!  I had to start a little book with the names of my girls, because they are beginning to number, and I will not be able to remember what I named whom!!

This is one of the smaller dolls I did a dress and crocheted slip for.  I had a few dolls I got nude, so they needed to be clothed.  She is a Playmate Strawberry Shortcake.  No name for her yet, either.  I have a couple of her sisters I dressed, but don't have the pix uploaded yet.  I think she is about 4 1/2" tall.

There are other dolls I've dressed (no pix yet).  The largest size is an 18" Disney Animators Toddler Snow White from the London Disney store; the smallest is probably a toss up between several Bratz Babyz, my new little darling, a mini Ddung, (HER name is Xuli (Soo-lee), and a little Kelly doll (Barbie's sister). These are all about the same height, but very different body sizes.  It seems like I sit every night and crochet while watching my favorite TV shows or my favorite British/Irish/Welsh/Australian/Canadian mysteries or detective/police dramas on DVD.  Oh yeah, and I FINALLY got Season 3 of Downton Abbey.  I just love this series and think I would love to have all of the seasons on DVD one day.

Next time I'll show you the Japanese-style pose dolls I had fun making.  I did those when I was in my felt mode.  It will be nice if I can also upload new pix to show you, too!!

I guess these days, the only retro thing about me, is my childhood love of dolls and all things related. I did find a metal dollhouse very much like the one I had, but for some reason, now I have it, it's not giving me that expected "zing".  I think because the house I really wanted is the Tomy modern house from the 70's.  It's gotten so hot and so expensive just since I started looking.  Maybe there will be one somewhere in my future!  LOL!!

I hope everyone is well and has had a good summer.  I will be doing some catch up work checking out the blogs of so many dear people!

So - anyone else out there playing with dolls????

Twilight Zone

Hello all!  I'm going to try and actually write this post so you all know I am still somewhat alive!  LOL!!!  I'm still in the process of getting better with medication for my thyroid.  It's awful when all I want to do is sleep ... and I still have a hard time keeping my head to actually do anything worthwhile.  I feel like I'm operating with only 1/4 of a brain!!!!

And to add to that - now my computer is giving me fits and may have to go out for repair!  Lovely.  It never rains but it pours, right?  But it's May first, so hopefully all that rain brings green grass, green trees, and beautiful flowers!  And NO MORE PROBLEMS!!!!

Noialand pattern

Gorgeous jeweled egg was made for my mother
in the early 60's by Mrs. L.G. Balfour (Balfour Jewelry
of Attleboro, MA-all gone now, building and all!)

I've missed keeping up with all of my wonderful bloggy friends-I feel like I've been lost in the Twilight Zone!
I don't know what's been happening with everyone and I haven't left any comments in such a long time.  So sorry for that!

Bunny girl (Noialand pattern)

The only things I've done for crafting is work on a few hand-sewn dolls while facing the TV screen.  And usually only at night--I seem to get a little life in me late.

Bunny baby wears a carrot costume (Noialand)

Sometimes I sit like a lump, though.  That's the biggest problem.  Being able to get anything actually finished. And doing the normal stuff like washing dishes (huh??!!) or vacuuming the carpets (pets??? can you say cat fur???)

Owls for a little garland (Noialand)

And let's not even discuss think about laundry!!!  Or cooking eating.  I will be happy once I really get some good energy back.  That has been such a crummy problem for me.  Does anyone else out there have a thyroid problem???????  Any words or information on how you handled it and all would be gratefully received!!!!

This little girl based on a Noialand pattern

I hope I am able to post this - I'll never remember what I said if I lose it all!  And I probably will not have my computer after the 3rd.  But there are a couple of things I really must do (both SOOO long overdue) :

1.  Get in touch with Chris from Perfectly Printed ~

2.  Call Elizabeth of Creative Breathing ~

Please forgive me for not linking everything here.  I am afraid to push my luck with this computer.

Love to all,

AUCTION TO BENEFIT BOSTON MARATHON BOMBINGS

Hello to all!!!

Please forgive my absence here - I have still been recovering from recent illness plus a new diagnosis of a thyroid problem.  But even in my muddle-headedness, I felt I MUST do something to help (in my own very small way) the victims of the recent Boston Marathon Bombings.

I decided to do what I could do best, craft something to auction on eBay.  That is what I've done!!

MISS ADVENTURE KITTY
